Who invented the ambulance vehicle?
The Answer:
Vehicles used to transport soldiers injured during battle date
back to 11th century Europe. But Bellevue Hospital in New York City is credited with
establishing the first hospital-based civilian ambulance service in
the United States. The horse-and-buggy teams were organized by Dr.
Edward L. Dalton in 1869.
Today the Bellevue
Hospital Center is run by New York University's School of
Medicine.
