Scary Movie 2
Out of the all the commercial R-rated films out there, last year's horror spoof Scary Movie made the most money. This success is likely owed to a great trailer which, as it turned out, simply spoiled the few good jokes. The scariest thing about Scary Movie is that it spawned a sequel of lesser quality. Apparently the folks at Dimension films believe their box office earnings are based on relentlessly yucky laughs.
The ejaculation scene in Scary Movie was one of cinema's more tasteless moments. Films before and since have been busy cycling through bodily fluids and functions and a day will soon come where everything that can be evacuated will have been (in vast quantities at that), and, thus purified, exhausted moviegoers can slink home sated. This is the kind of utopian imagining that Scary Movie 2 brings about.
The sequel lacks any connection to its predecessor, except for the Wayans' input. The movie opens with yet another Exorcist spoof and wanders, lazy and giggling, through a barrage of movie and pop cultural moments, jokey raunch, and pothead humor.
