- Police Van Plows into Protesters in the Philippines
- On Oct. 18, 2016, a police van rams repeatedly into a crowd of anti-American protesters outside the United States Embassy in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. The police force tells CNN that the protesters did not have a permit for the protest, but were tolerated until they started getting too close to the embassy and pushing over police vehicles. Twenty-nine people are arrested at the protest and 12 are injured. The protesters are a new group, self-described as "newly-formed alliance of national minorities" who are protesting the unequal relations between the United States and the Philippines.
