- Poet, Songwriter Leonard Cohen Dies at 82
- On Thurs. Nov, 7, 2016, Leonard Cohen dies at the age of 82 in his home in Los Angeles, California. At the start of his career, Cohen was a novelist and poet but he moved on from his literary career to become one of the most profound songwriters of the contemporary era. His music career spanned more than five decades and dealt with themes of love, despair, faith, solitude, war, exaltation, and politics. His most recent album was released in Oct. titled, "You Want It Darker." His son, Alex Cohen, says that Leonard died "with the knowledge that he had completed what he felt was one of his greatest records."
