- François Fillon Wins French Presidential Nomination
- On November 27, 2016, François Fillon secures his nomination as the center-right candidate in the presidential election in France next year. Fillon's victory over his opponents surprise many; last month he was trailing in fourth place in the polls. But the French republicans showed up en masse to make sure he secured his spot on the ballot. Fillon wants to "restore respect to the presidency, freedom to the economy and firmness to social policy."
