On Nov. 28, 2016, a charter plane, a British-built Aerospace 146 short-haul, carrying the division one Chapecoense soccer team from Brazil crashes in the hills of Colombia a little before 10 p.m. Very early reports point to lack of fuel as a cause. All but 6 of the 77 passengers aboard are killed. The up-and-coming soccer team was headed from Santa Cruz, Bolivia to the Copa Sudamericana final against the team Atletico Nacional of Medellin.
