- The Cleveland Cavaliers win the 2016 NBA finals in a clinching Game 7. LeBron James took the team to a 93-89 victory against the Golden State Warriors. This is the first NBA finals victory in franchise victory, as well as being Cleveland's first major title since 1964. The Cleveland Cavaliers rallied after a 3-1 series deficit. LeBron James takes home the "Finals MVP" title after scoring 27 points and notching 11 rebounds and 11 assists.
