The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) releases a new report on June 7, 2016, with dismal news: Americans are fat and getting fatter. The CDC defines "obese" as having a body mass index (BMI)—a measure of height to weight—that's over 30. More than a third of the adult U.S. population (38%) fall into this category, and 17% of teenagers do too. For the first time, more than 4 in 10 U.S. women are obese.
