- Texas Floods Claim Lives of Nine Soldiers
- Powerful floodwaters overturn a military vehicle in Texas on June 2, 2016, killing nine soldiers stationed at Fort Hood. Three other soldiers are rescued. The tragedy occurs during a training exercise near Owl Creek. Heavy rains and tornadoes throughout Texas are implicated in the deaths of nine other people across the state.
