Today's Weather Fact...

On this date in 1989, wicked thunderstorms hammered the southern Plains region and the lower Mississippi Valley. The storms spawned 15 tornadoes and there were over 300 reports of large hail and damaging gusts. In Monroe, Louisiana, there was more than $130 million damage caused by the extreme rains and hailstones. Winds gusted to 100 mph at Epps, Louisiana, and Forth Worth, Texas.
