As of September 30, 2010, women in the military (not including the Coast Guard) made up almost 15% of the total active force. The Air Force has the highest percentage of women and the Marine Corps the lowest. The Army has the highest percentage of African-American women; the Marine Corps has the highest percentage of women of Hispanic origin.
