Marco Rubio's Water Break

On Feb. 12, 2013, Florida Senator Marco Rubio was chosen to make the Republican rebuttal to President Barack Obama's State of the Union address. Rubio's speech was a brief 2,600 word response. However, it was long enough that Rubio needed a water break. This screenshot captured the moment when Rubio stopped speaking and nervously reached over to drink from a bottle of water. Rubio continued his speech, but it was his awkward water break that caught everyone's attention. An online video of the moment received 184,000 views within the first 24 hours.
