Tell us about your work-what do you do? I am a financial auditor for Ernst & Young . What skills are needed? You'll need a background in accounting or finance , communication/interpersonal skills, and analytical skills . What was your major? Accounting How did you get started in your career? Ernst & Young came to campus to recruit juniors and seniors. What experience do you need in this job? No experience is necessary as an entry level professional . Describe your "typical " workday: I usually work out of the office at the client's location. Generally, there will be 3 or 4 people on the audit team. The various tasks are divided among the team. I have a time budget of when items should be completed. I review information prepared by the client, discuss questions with the client, and conclude the reasonableness of the information that they provide. What is the hardest aspect of your job? Asking the right questions to get the information that I need from the client. What is the most rewarding aspect of your job? Meeting tons of people, getting paid. What are your suggestions for someone considering this field? Be flexible and open to learning new things.
