Moses HAYDEN, Congress, NY (1786-1830)

HAYDEN Moses , a Representative from New York; born near Westfield, Hampden County, Mass., in 1786; completed preparatory studies and was graduated from Williams College, Williamstown, Mass., in 1804; studied law; was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in York, Livingston County, N.Y.; was first judge of the court of common pleas of Livingston County 1821-1823; elected as an Adams-Clay Republican to the Eighteenth Congress and reelected as an Adams candidate to the Nineteenth Congress (March 4, 1823-March 3, 1827); member of the State senate from January 6, 1829, until his death in Albany, N.Y., February 13, 1830; interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, York, near Fowlerville, N.Y.
