Robin Moore was a writer and advocate of the U.S. Special Forces. He is famous for his two books, "The French Connection" (1965) and "The Green Berets" (1969). "The French Connection" later inspired the movie that won five Academy Awards in 1972. Moore is also well-known for his collaboration in writing "The Ballad of the Green Berets," which became the Special Forces unit's signature song.
