Orbach's career encompasses musical theater, film, and television. He won a Tony in 1969 for acting in Promises, Promises and appeared in The Fantasticks (1960) and 42nd Street (1980–81, 1984). His film work includes Prince of the City (1981) and Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989), and on television he starred in The Law and Harry McGraw (1987–88) and Law & Order.
