Danny Almonte,

Little League pitching phenom, turned out to be 14, not 12, as his father and coach had claimed. Almonte led his team to the Little League World Series, where he hurled a perfect game. But an investigation in his native Dominican Republic revealed in August that his birth certificate had been falsified, lopping two years off his age to make him eligible for Little League play. The team, the Bronx's Rolando Paulino All-Stars, had to forfeit all victories for the season.
