Me, Myself and Irene

  • Elektra

Hotshot filmmakers The Farrelly Brothers are major Steely Dan fans, so much so that they've incorporated eight of the band's songs into this soundtrack for the new Jim Carrey comedy.

Not only was it a fabulous idea, but the performances here are consistently on target, with such intriguing Steely Dan interpretations as Wilco doing "Any Major Dude Will Tell You," The Push Stars' evocative take of "Bad Sneakers," and Ben Folds Five delivering a harmony-filled version of "Barrytown."

Me, Myself & Irene also includes some other equally strong tracks, such as The Offspring's "Totalimmortal," Foo Fighters' hit "Breakout," and Hootie and the Blowfish doing a surprisingly strong version of the '60s hit "Can't Find the Time to Tell You."
