Miles Logan (Martin Lawrence) has just enough time to stash a massive diamond in an unfinished building before being hauled off for a failed jewel heist. Two years later he's free and ready to cash in ... but the L.A.P.D. has built their headquarters on the site. In order to reclaim his stolen goods, the hustler must impersonate a cop. Logan gets paired with a white rookie (required to complete the interracial buddy-cop template). Lawrence uses his trademark manic actions and over-the-top attitude, inadvertently getting his character promoted to the head of the burglary division, so he has to actually solve cases while trying to nab the diamond from the building's uppermost floors.

Lawrence is in top form, and Blue Streak achieves solid, silly laughs.
