Oddly enough, A Bug's Life isn't the only recent movie where an ant colony faces destruction, where individuality must be forged and nurtured in order to save a community of sameness. Flik the ant (voice of Trolley) tries to free his colony from the oppressive leadership of the grasshopper tyrant (voice of Spacey). While this lighthearted movie lacks the clever script and cameo voices that breathed life in Antz, it is a better bet for children for the same exact same reason.
