World Cup '98 Qualifying Asia

At least three but no more than four teams from the Asian Football Confederation will qualify for France '98. Group winners automatically qualify then the two second place teams will play on neutral ground on Nov. 16, 1997. The winner qualifies, the loser must then play Oceania Group winner Australia in a home-and-home series on Nov. 22 and 29, 1997 for a bid.
