Robert Noel, 2002 News

California attorney, was convicted in March of second-degree murder in the death of Diane Whipple, 33, who was mauled to death in 2001 by a 120-pound Presa Canario dog. The conviction, however, was overturned in June when a San Francisco judge said the evidence did not justify the verdict. Knoller and her husband, Robert Noel, were caring for two Presa Canarios for Paul John Schneider, a 38-year-old inmate and white supremacist they had recently adopted. Knoller and Noel were also found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. The manslaughter verdicts were not overturned, and the pair were sentenced to four years in prison.
