Seton Hall center who set the current NCAA single-season record for total rebounds (734) during the 1952-53 season; won NIT with Seton Hall in 1953 and was named the tournament's most valuable player; drafted by the Knicks, but, instead, signed a lucrative two-year deal with the Harlem Globetrotters; played eight seasons in the NBA with New York, Minneapolis and Detroit; two-time NBA All-Star; graduate of New York Law School; found guilty of practicing without a license in 1975, having been suspended for not paying dues; when interviewed by New Jersey newspaper early in 2001, heat in his apartment had been shut off because of unpaid bills. The cause of his death was not given.
