Stan Wood

golf coach at USC whose teams made 22 appearances in the NCAA championships between 1955-80; won 14 conference championships and had a duel-meet record of 426-37; players he coached included PGA champions Al Geiberger, Dave Stockton, Craig Stadler and Scott Simpson; helped create the Golf Coaches Association of America and served as chairman of the NCAA Golf Committee from 1955-67. He died of a heart attack.
