Junior Wells

A hard driving vocalist and harmonica player that helped define Chicago blues, John Belushi and Dan Akroyd idolized Wells and he made a cameo appearance in the film, Blues Brothers 2000 (1998), just before his death. Wells enjoyed a 40-year career as a live performer, working with the likes of Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, and Earl Hooker. His recording career, though equally long, contained peaks and valleys. He began recording in his middle teens, cutting blues classics such as Hoodoo Man, Cut that Out, and Eagle Rock then went on to record Messin' with the Kid, You're Tough Enough, and Snatch it Back and Hold It. His final album, Come on in This House (1997), won the W.C. Handy Traditional Blues Award.
