Borg, Björn

Borg, Björn byörn bôrg, bôrˈyə [key], 1956–, Swedish tennis player. As a teenage star he led (1975) Sweden to its first Davis Cup victory. One of the most successful modern tennis players, Borg captured five successive Wimbledon singles titles (1976–80). He also won the French Open singles six times (1974–75, 1978–81). He retired in 1983.
