That '70s Show

Fox's retro risk That '70s Show

Fox, which hit the jackpot last year with comedies Ally McBeal and King of the Hill, has hit the skids this year with its selection of new sitcoms. In fact, That '70s Show is the only comedy to remain on the schedule. Costello, Living in Captivity, and last season's midseason replacement Getting Personal were promptly given the heave-ho. The network may have erred in acquiring these bombs, but it was wise enough to remove them to make more room for the stable of The World's Wildest Police Videos and goodness knows what other World's Most Freakish shows Fox has in production.
