Southern University

Southern University, main campus at Baton Rouge, La.; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; est. 1880; predominantly African American. It comprises Southern Univ. and Agricultural and Mechanical College at Baton Rouge; Southern Univ. in New Orleans; and Southern Univ., Shreveport–Bossier City campus. The law school is also at Baton Rouge.
