Jastrow, Marcus

Jastrow, Marcus yäsˈtrō, jăsˈ– [key], 1829–1903, American rabbi and Talmudic scholar, b. Poland. He was a rabbi (1866–92) in Philadelphia, editor of the Talmud material of The Jewish Encyclopedia, and author of Dictionary of the Targumim, the Talmud Babli and Yerushalmi, and the Midrashic Literature (1903).
