Manteca

Manteca măntēˈkə [key], city (1990 pop. 40,773), San Joaquin co., central Calif.; founded 1870, inc. 1918. There is diverse agriculture, including grapes, sugar beets, fruits, nuts, vegetables, and nursery products. Industries include food processing and light manufacturing. A large army depot is nearby.
