Indiana, industrial borough (2020 pop. 13,067), seat of Indiana co., W Pa.; inc. 1816. It is the principal supply and trading center for a bituminous-coal mining area in the Alleghenies and has factories that produce diesel engines, medical and rubber products, food, and laboratory equipment. Indiana Univ. of Pennsylvania is there.
