Kalispell

Kalispell kălˈĭspĕlˌ, –pĕlˈ [key], city (1990 pop. 11,917), seat of Flathead co., NW Mont., at the head of Flathead Lake near Glacier National Park; inc. 1892. It is the tourist and trade center of a rich agricultural and timber region. Fruit, grains, and beans are grown; livestock is raised; and there is manufacturing, including lumber, furniture, processed foods, meat and dairy products, and semiconductor equipment. The headquarters of the Flathead National Forest are in Kalispell. Hungry Horse Dam and Reservoir is nearby.
