Georgia Military Academy (1900) is there. 2 City (1990 pop. 21,927), Prince Georges co., W central Md., a residential suburb of Washington, D.C.; settled 1745, inc. 1945. It is the seat of the Univ. of Maryland, the Maryland Agricultural Experiment Station (1887), and the Archives II building (1994) of the National Archives . The city's economy is centered on the university, research institutions, and electronics plants.
