Matapedia, Lake

Matapedia, Lake mătəpēˈdēə [key], 14 mi (23 km) long and 2 mi (3.2 km) wide, E Que., Canada, at the base of the Gaspé Peninsula and S of Matane. It is drained southward by the Matapedia River, famous for salmon fishing. The lake is a well-known tourist center.
