Příbram

Příbram pərzhĭbˈräm [key], town (1991 pop. 36,898), SW Czech Republic, in Bohemia. It is one of the oldest gold- and silver-mining centers of Bohemia, with mine shafts more than 3,000 ft (914 m) deep. The modern mining economy, however, is mainly dependent on lead, zinc, and uranium.
