Stonehaven

Stonehaven, town (1991 pop. 8,000), Aberdeenshire, E Scotland, on the North Sea. A resort town, its products include whisky and leather and woolen goods. Fishing is important. Nearby are the notable ruins of Dunnottar Castle. The castle, on a nearly impregnable cliff 160 ft (49 m) high, was first built in the 7th cent.
