Yangquan

Yangquan yängˈchüänˈ [key], city (1994 est. pop. 402,300), E central Shanxi prov., China, on the highway and railroad linking Taiyuan with Hebei prov. The center of an important coal-producing area, it is a growing industrial city. Iron is also mined nearby.
