Paardeberg

Paardeberg pär´dəbərg, –bĕrk [key], historic location, Free State prov., South Africa. In Feb., 1900, during the South African War , Gen. Piet Cronje and his Boer (Afrikaner) troops were forced to surrender to the British army at Paardeberg.
