Boutens, Pieter Cornelis

Boutens, Pieter Cornelis pē´tər kôrnā´lĭs bou´təns [key], 1870–1943, Dutch poet. His Verzen (1898) won him early praise. His impressionistic and mystical lyric verse was marked by rhythmic freedom. Boutens made extensive translations, particularly from Greek.
