Crerar, Henry Duncan Graham

Crerar, Henry Duncan Graham krērˈär [key], 1888–1965, Canadian general in World War II. He fought in World War I and later headed the Royal Military College. In 1940 he was made chief of the Canadian general staff. In 1941 he was given command of the Canadian 2d Division Overseas; in 1944 he became commander of the 1st Canadian Corps and was made a full general, serving with distinction during the campaigns in Europe.
