Miller, Stephen

Miller, Stephen, 1985–, American political consultant and government official, b. Santa Monica, Calif., B.A. Duke, 2007. A conservative Republican, Miller worked for the Senate Judiciary Committee and Senator Jeff Sessions (2009–14), becoming Sessions's communications chief (2014–15). In 2016 he became a senior policy adviser and speechwriter in Donald Trump's presidential campaign, and he continued in that role in Trump's administration, where he was influential in instituting hardline immigration and refugee policies that sparked controversy for echoing historical restrictions based on race, ethnicity, and nationality.
