Frederiksen, Mette

Frederiksen, Mette, 1977–, Danish political leader. A Social Democrat, she was first elected to Denmark's parliament in 2001, and later served as employment minister (2011–14) and justice minister (2014–15). Party leader from 2015, Frederiksen moved it to the right on immigration and globalization issues. After the Social Democrats won a plurality in 2019, she formed a one-party minority government, becoming Denmark's youngest-ever prime minister.
