Vescovo, Victor Lance

Vescovo, Victor Lance, 1966–, American private equity investor and adventurer, b. Dallas, Tex., M.B.A. Harvard, 1994. He was a principal at Lehman Brothers (1991–92), a senior manager at Bain and Co. (1994–99), and vice president of product development at Military Advantage (1999–2001) before he became a cofounder (2002) and managing partner of Insight Equity Holdings LLC. He also served 20 years as an officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, retiring in 2013 as a commander. An avid sportsman and explorer, Vescovo has completed the “Explorers Grand Slam,” climbing the highest peak on each of the seven continents and skiing at least 62 mi (100 km) to both the North and South Poles. Beginning in 2018 he led the Five Deeps Expedition, which used the submersible Limiting Factor to descend to the bottom of the Puerto Rico Trench, the deepest spot in the Atlantic Ocean, and, in 2019, to the deepest portions of the Southern, Indian, Pacific, and Arctic oceans. The expedition also collected biological samples and mapped the deepest points on the ocean floor.
