Brewer's: Cursing by Bell, Book, and Candle

is reading the anathema in the church, then closing the Bible, tolling the bell, and extinguishing all the candles, saying “Fiat, fiat! Do-to (close) the Book, quench the candles, ring the bell. Amen, amen.”
