- On July 25, 2016, a shooting occurs outside a Fort Myers, Florida nightclub, Club Blu. The club is hosting a beach-themed party when gunfire erupts outside the club. Two teenagers, ages 14 and 18, are fatally shot and a dozen more are left injured. The police stress in a public statement that this does not seem to be an act of terror.
