- On July 19, 2016, famous director and producer Garry Marshall dies at the age of 81. Marshall passed away in the hospital from complications and pneumonia after a stroke. Marshall was famous for his 1970s TV shows, "Happy Days" and "Mork and Mindy." He was also a famous movie director, directing over 18 films, most famously "Pretty Women" in the 1990s which launched Julia Robert's career. Many celebrities posted tributes to Marshall thanking him for all he had done for their careers.
