Megadeth

It's a perfect fit. Superstar wrestler Goldberg has made Megadeth's “Crush 'Em,” his theme song of late, and the cartoon-esque, fist-pumping cut is the centerpiece of the metal mauler's latest album.

Full of brawn and bottom-heavy guitar thunder, Risk is dominated by that track and others, like the Sabbath-styled “Prince of Darkness,” the crushing “Wanderlust,” and the riff-riding “Seven.”

Occasionally, singer/guitarist Dave Mustaine steps out of style a bit, most effectively on the twisting, turning set opener “Insomnia,” and the nearly power pop throttle of “Breadline,” with the latter slightly recalling vintage Cheap Trick. But mostly this is very standard and very lumbering hard rock.
