Joe Morelli (Castellito) is a con man with a camera. He travels to remote towns in postwar Sicily convincing villagers that he can make them into movie stars — for a small screen-test fee. His plans fall apart when a young woman (Lodato) breaks his heart. Sweet, with some poignant scenes, but the film doesn't compare to Tornatore's Cinema Paradiso.
