It would be very simple to say that Love Stinks stinks, because it does, but that's letting the film off too easy. Writer-director Jeff Franklin cut his teeth on the mild sitcom Full House, and Hollywood's heightened scale allows him to explore a fascination/horror of busty women, male commitment, and Elvis impersonators. Seth (French Stewart) is a jittery L.A. producer dating Chelsea (Bridgette Wilson) solely because of their great sex; Chelsea is a demented male-hungry harpy dating Seth solely for marriage. The jokes come few and far between, and they arrive in the skimpy negligees of misogyny.
