Feller, Bob

Feller, Bob (Robert William Andrew Feller), 1918–2010, American baseball player, b. Van Meter, Iowa. Famous for his blazing fastball, he also had extraordinary curveballs and sinkers in his repertoire. Feller pitched 18 seasons with the Cleveland Indians, beginning in 1936. He led the American League in wins six times while compiling 266 career victories. The right-hander pitched three no-hit and 12 one-hit games, and led the league in strikeouts seven seasons. Feller was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962.
